Afternoon tea was served by members of the C.W A.ART EXHIBITION.The St. George Art Society’s exhibition in connection with Festival Week was opened last Saturday afternoon. In the absence of Mrs. H. V. Evatt the opening ceremony was performed by Mr. Bernard Smith, of the National Art GaJlsry. Mr. Smith wan Impressed by the high standard of the exhibits, and was of the opinion that such exhibitions would be most welcome in country centre*. The prise donated by Mm. Evatt was won by Mr. Walter Bennett for his painting “Windy Drop-down Creek. The exhibition will remain open until Saturday, May 31. in the St. George County Council’s Building, Kogarah.
