Ottawa was host to some 150 Kansas Conference stars on last Friday and Saturday, and about seven of those 150 went away bearing the honor of holding a new state record. For in the track and field meet that was held at that .time there were eight new records, established.Kansas State Normal easily won the meet with a total of 46 points. College of Emporia was second with 22S; Pittsburg' Normal third,22, and Washburn fourth with 21 points.Lige Williams, star colored sprinter of the Emporia teachers, was the attraction of the meet, and his stepping in the century and the two-twenty yard dashes was something to be marveled at.In the finals of the hundred on Saturday, he .made the excellent and almost unbeatable time of 9.7 seconds. By winning these two events, Williams was liigh-point man of the meet. His records will probably stand for some time to come.
