DRANK TOO MUCH.Before Mr. Testro, J.P., at the Port Melbourne court on Tuesday morning, George Robertson was charged with being drunk and disorderly in Bay street at 10.30 p.m. on Monday Constable Quail deposed that he arrested accused. As the delinquent had been locked up all night, he was discharged with a caution not -to. offend a second time. Win. Manning, who was found drunk by Constable Bell-Chambers in Bay street at midnight on Saturday, appeared beforo the court on Monday morning. He said that he belonged to s.s. Persic. As he had been locked up since he was apprehended, Manning was discharged. Thomas Dowrick, charged by Constable Dare with being drunk in Montague on Saturday, was brought before the court on Monday: Dowrick had previously been before I the court and fined for drunkenness. On Monday he was fined 20/- with 2/6 costs, in default seven days’ imprisonment. The bench warned the accused that if he offended again he would be sent to gaol, and not be given the option of a fine.
