In an item in our last issue concerning the approaching election for Circuit Court Clerk of this county, it was made to appear that Mr. P. M. Campbell would be a candidate to succeed himself. We have since learned that Mr. Campbell will prpbably not seek the nomitnaion again but may retire at the close of his present term which is yet nearly two years off. Mr. Campbell wi 11 have then served eleven years as Clerk and has made a popular official. As Mr. Campbell is not as young as he appears and as he has various other interests to demand his attention it is by no means improbable that he will decline to make the race again. There are by the way more than one prospective candidate for the office, sh- .Id Mr. Campbell retire, and wl.«*n the time arrives the race may prove an interesting one.
