HarlanGirlsTake Regional; Boys'TeamWins Fifth PlaceHarlan Girls’ Track Team won the regional meet Friday in Williamsburg and the Boys’ Team finished fifth. Harlan girls qualified for the state meet with nine first places and the boys will send one The girls finished with 58 points in Class A competition Williamsburg was runner up with 25 Other teams finished in this order, Corbin 204; St. Cam ill us, 17; Jenkins, 13; Fleming Neon 13; Lynn Camp, 114 Letcher County, 7Williamsburg won the boys meet with 43 points Fleming Neon wass runner up with 40 Others were Pineville. 27; Jenkins, 26; Harlan, 17; lxne Jack, 14; Lynn Camp, 7; Riverside, 3; Corbin, 0; and St Camillus. O.Harlan’s took the long jump which was won by Donna Walker with a leap of 16’ 54” Harlan won all of the relay races as they did in the conference meet.The 440 relay team is composed of Walker, Joyce Turner,Lori Rhodes and Anna Jo Robinson They ran it in 52.0 flat.Donna Walker won the 100 yard dash in 11 4 and the 50 yard dash in 6 1. The 880 relay team was first in a time of 1:55 4 The foursome includes Deanie Curley, Paula Walstad, Joyce Turner and Mona Body.Reva Benson clinched the 440 yard dash in 64.0 flat The 880 medley team ran it in 2:01.3. They were Anna Jo Robinson. Joyce Turner, Deanie Curley and Mona Body Anna Jo Robinson won the 220 in 27 4 and the mile relay team brought in the win in 4:35.8. The team includes Paula Walstad, Deanie Curley, Reva Benson and Jan Pollitte.Jerry Jackson won the discus event He threw it 128’ 8”. Charles Kirksey was third in the broad jump, David Ravizee was second in the 880 and Dexter Minter placed fifth in the two mile.
