Wedding vows of Miss Jessie Ray Snider and Erwin Barry Herd were exchanged in a can dlelight ceremony in the Hurley Community Church April 16. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Snider of El Paso, Tex., and granddaugh ter of Mrs. Jessie Snider of Holt ville, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Talley of Bayard. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dee Herd of Murley. The Rev. Harold Johnson and the Rev. A. D. Roberts officiat ed at the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with white, yellow and lilac gladiola and candelabra holding white candies. Miss Jeannie McGee, organist accompanied the soloist, her daughter Peggy, who sang, I Love You Truly and The Lord's Prayer. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a formal gown of silk organza over white taffeta with a lace bodice and lace inserts in the skirt, embroid ered with white seed pearls, the skirt ending in a chapel train. She wore the traditional blue garter; a 1900 penny in her shoe for luck; and a tiny silver spoon, belonging to her mother, around her neck. She carries a cascade bouquet of white carnations and tiny yellow rose buds. Miss Lynda Snider, was her siser’s maid of honor; and bridesmaid was Miss Maurine Herd, sister of the bridegroom. They wore dresses made alike of yellow and lilac embrossed cot ton. They carried bouquets of carnations matching the color of the dresses, with a matching headdress. Charles Coleman was best man and ushers were Mike Byington and Charles Olson. Mrs. Snider, mother of the bride, wore a beige lace dress with matching accessories; her corsage was of white feathered carnations. The bridegroom's mother wore a blue eyelet dress with white accessories and her corsage was white feathered cartnalions. A reception in the Community Hall followed the ceremony. The table covered by a white linen cloth, was centered with a four tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bride groom and the tiers separated with white swans. Wedding bells and praying hands silver candle holders with pink candles also decorated the table. Mrs. Helen Lafferty of El Paso baked and decorated the cake. Mrs. Kathy Olson served the cake, and the punch was served by Mrs. Rose Coleman and Miss danie Maners. Miss Nancy Snider, sister of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ocie Lewis, Mrs. Pat Thomason and August H. Bell of El Paso; Mrs. L. K. Gard ner, Thelma Gulbrander, Georg iana McKinzey and Viola Gard ner of Dering; Mrs. Pat Howell and children of Mesilla Park; and Jay Jackson and George White of Milton, Fla.
