Operation Necessary Following Car WreckHUTCHINSON A Hutchinson youth, son of a Little River couple, has undergone surgery in Hutchinson’s SI. Elizabeth hospital for serious injuries received Saturday afternoon in a one-car crash fourteen miles east and a quarter of a mile south of Lyons. He is Kenneth Barton, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Barton.Barton’s car apparently went out of control on the sandy road, and overturned, according to Rice County Undersheriff Dee Doughty, The car overturned and landed on the wheels. When first p e r s ons came upon the wreckage, Barton was out of the car, but it is unknown if he was thrown out or crawled out after the wreck.Barton allegedly suffered multiple fractures of the right arm and a collapsed, lung. Fluid was building up in the lungs, necessatating an operation to drain it off.Hospital authorities reported Barton’s condition as “some -what worsened” yesterday, but holding his own,” at 1 p.m.
