Christopher's parish, was highly honored: Sunday afternoon wtIecxl His; Eminence, Samuel Cardinal-„ Stritch arrived to officiate at the- dedication of St. Christopher's new school and to Mess the ne\v confraternity library,, the new rectory and the newly remodeled; convent.The program* which, took, place in Hie .afternoon, .began in- thechurch? w ith'- the choir smnincr“Eccer Sacefdos” by Eittel under the direction of the nuns.A. procession led by St. Chris-‘topher's Holy Name society, the altar boys and, fourth degree Knights of Columbus, honor guards to the Cardinal, preceeded the archbishop and church dignitaries to the school building where the dedication took place.Assisting at the dedication were the Very Rev. Mong. J. C. Hardiman, who was master of ceremonies; Fr. S. A. Rozak, pastor of St Stanislaus, Posen, and Fr. J. A. Rebedeau, pastor of St. Christiana’s, Mount Greenwood.Other church dignitaries who took part were: Very Rev. Fr. Eleguis Weis, OFM, provincial of 'the Sacred Heart Province of St Louis, Mo., former chaplain of Stateville; two provincial consultants; Fr. Dominic Limacher, OFM, of St Joseph seminary, Hinsdale, and Fr. Adrian Fischer, OFM, pastor of St. Augustine's parish,. Chicago.After the dedication, the other buildings were blessed and the procession returned to the church, where the choir sang “Christus Vinicit and' *V e n i Creator under the direction of the nuns.Cardinal Stritch delivered' a most impressive sermon after whic h lie complimented the j priests of St Christopher, the parishioners .and their children upon the rapid progress which has been made since he visited: here two years ago. The program was completed by Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament*Among the several hundredpersons who attended the dedication were many prominent visitors such as Sen. Faul DouglasJohn Voosen, architects for the school building, Mr. Henry of ^General Contractors, Mir. Moll, president of the New City Iron .Works, and many other sub-contractors and suppliers.The nuns' convent, which was opened to the public for the first time, was a most pleasant surprise. The visitors who lined up to be conducted thru the convent, found a beautifully furnished home with a most complete cabinet kitchen and laundry, walk-in refrigerator, a beautifulmusic room, and a parlor for visitors. The nuns’ chapel was completed just in time for the open house.The altar was made and donated by Joseph Gabay of Gabay Builders. Visitors complimentedhighly on its beauty*Refreshments were served to the visitors in the school auditorium during the afternoon and evening by the ladies of the parish.The Rosary and Altar society, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Frank Brossard, served a roast beef dinner in the school’s new cafeteria to about 150 guests, among whom were the cardinal and his party, members of the Holy Name society, village and township and visiting priests.The efficient grounds committee, under the direction of George Doyle, were members of St. Christopher Holy Name society and the Midlothian policeforce.Tinleys Tom Sawyer' \ Dennis.
