59ih AVIATION SQUADRONDISH'N DIRTBy Pfc. William A. NorrisThe 59th Aviation Squadron’s Personnel Section were invited to The Federation Ball, held in St. Pete on May 14, 1943. Able to attend were S/Sgt. Lester Adams and James C. Gray; Cpls. Clarence Brown and John Braynon; Pfcs. Levy L. Byrd and Saunders Welch. This dance was tops in entertainment. The girls’ only regret was not having more of the Drew Field soldiers on hand.ODDS AND ENDS' _ Flash! “Truth is stranger than fiction ’: Pvt. We had in our midst some fine looking soldiers until a few started living off the base on separate rations. If you care to know who she was, then come up to the eleven o’clock bus stop.That’s her regular hangout. . . Cpl.- Andrew Tarver has beenbeautiful Mae to come out to thecamp since S/Sgt. r Dennis D.Green had to go to school. The note she received from him was never answered. Will he put it in plainer words? We wonder. . . Pvt. Eddie Hicks (The Burma Road King) is falling in love with the two girls that work in PX number 5.
