V. Irvine was drowned in Uni St. Joe river a short distance from the city. In plain sight of a number of parties along the river and almost within reaching distance of his father the hoy, after raising twice, Dually sank in Ihc muddy water of the river at a point just in from of the family residence.In company with his father and two younger brothers Clark was assisting in picking up drifhvond al the dock near hi* home. lie and his father were in a flat -hot -ton* row boat about five feet from the dock when Clark suddenly lost hi* balance in trying to catch a drift-log which was rapidly going past him, and fell into the water. IIis father made frantic efforts to throw something to his sou's assistance as he knew that the hoy could not swim, but I ha oars were caught and a small rope which was thrown the hoy failed to catch and after raising twice, sank, and at a late hour last evening, despite the heroic etforts of a large number of local people in dragging the river, the body had not been recovered.| point.
