The girls claim that the $23 charged by Andrews for work done a year ago ] last February was too much and refused to pay but offered to compromise for fifteen dollars. Andrews refused to do so and brought suit in a justice of peace court last spring and lost. He appealed the case and the court held $23 was exorbitant and allowed the carpenter eight dollars. He not only lost the case but will have to be content with $7 less than he might have had by compromising and must also pay his attorney’s fees.
