N. Fish, barrister of Regina. jilr. Fish acted for tbe government of the province in the appeal before the Supreme Court of Saskatchewan and also in the appeal before the Supreme 1 Court of Canada. Tbe refusal of the Privy Council to consider the appeal is not an absolute one. however, according to tbe explanation given by Mr. Fish. If the legal authorities of the Dominion government join in the appeal in all probability i*ermission to state the case will ha given. * -•'1 |t^unng Wing, a restaurant keeper of Regina, Saskatchewan, sought through Geoffrey Lawrence leave to appeal against the conviction of having a white woman in his employ contrary to the statute..Ha mar Greenwood opposed the application on behalf of the Attorney-General for the Province of Saskatchewan. *.4-Lord Chancellor Haldane, in refusing leave, said the Privy Council thought the question too important to he decided by private litigation, and that the Attorney-General for the Dominion should have the opportunity of considering if this was a proper case to dlt;*-termine such a constitutional issue.
