From Port Republic, WEDNESDAY, May 19. Mrs. John Raines, who had had pneu monia for some time, died May 16th. Her remains were interred in the home cem etery. Mrs. J. C. Wheat, wife of the Rev. J. C. Wheat, of Lynnwood, died Monday evening, May 17th. The bereaved fam ily have the sympathy of their many friends. We did not receive the news of her death in time to give a full report. Miss C. M. Hooke returned from Bal timore some time since. She is doing as well as could be expected. Miss Fannie Maury, of McGaheysville, is visiting Miss Carrie Nicholas, of this place. The telephone line is about completed between this Place and Harrisonburg,
