THS COMMENCEMENTThe annual commencement exercises of the Tampico township high school will be held in the high school auditorium Wednesday evening, May 26, at 8:00.The program will be as follows: Processional, Pomp and Circumstance, Karen Gilman; invocation, Danny Phillips, pastor of the Tampico Church of Christ; salutatory address, Image of Tomorrow, Gary Waldbusser; vocal solo, One God, Gordon Johnson, accompanied by Kenyon Ackeberg; valedictory address, What Can I Do, Jacqueline Bryan; presentation of special awards and introduction of the speaker, The Honorable John B. Anderson, by F. A. Ekstrand, superintendent of Tampico high school.Mr. Anderson will speak on the subject, A Time for Every Purpose. Congressman Anderson is aUnited States Representative ofthe 16th District in Illinois.Following the address, Jacqueline Bryan, president of the senior class, will present the class gift which will be accepted by LaVern Rock, president of the board of education.Keith Barkdoll, principal, will present the class and Mr. Rock will award the diplomas. The program will close with the benediction by Rev. A. M. Weitekamp of St. Mary’s church.Officers of the senior class are: President, Jacqueline Bryan; vicepresident, Vaughn Croft; secretary, Gary Waldbusser; treasurer, Ronald Wetzell; student council,Lana Egert.The class motto is Knowledge is Power; the class flower is the rose; and the class colors are turquoiseand silver.Gertrude Branson and Carol Gerbers are the class advisors.Members of the graduatingclass are James Anderson, William Bostelman, Jacqueline Bryan,Neil Cady, Ida Chriest, Gale Crandall, Vaughn Croft, Paul Davis, Lana Egert, Sara Ann Gud-gell, Gordon Johnson, Steven K. Johnson, Richard Johnson, Frances Kulas, Kenneth McCormick, Daniel Nelson, Lydia Newman, Mark Newman, Franklin Dale Oldham, Ava (Olson) Hanrahan, James Pletsch, Jerrie Thome, John Van Landuit, Gary Waldbusser, Douglas Wetzell and Ronald Wetzell.
