Kate Thorton is quite ill. E. M. Beall continues quite ill in Versailles. Milan was well represented at court last week. Mrs. Louis Veit, of Dillsboro, was in town Thursday. Jesse Shockley and family visited in the country Sunday. Mrs. Leora Kissel and aon Paul, spent Sunday in Stringtown. E. C. Powell and Henry Daughters were in Cincinnati Sunday. Jerry Lyle and son, of Osgood, were business callers here Friday. Bessie Hoppings, of Cincinnati, spent Sunday with Goldie Shockley. Alma Rynearson, of Moores Hill, visited relatives in Milan Sunday. There will be services at the Baptist church Sunday morning and night. Pauline H. Shockley attended the recital at Moores Hill, Thursday. Esabelle Tanner spent Thursday at the Ingram home near Moores Hill. Fred Knorr, of Lawrenceburg, is working on the Catholic church here. Lane Pryor and wife attended the funeral of Jos, Wilson at Elrod Sunday. Walter Johnson, wife and daughters, of Elrod, were callers in town Monday, Mary Pate spent Friday and Satur urday with her parents near Dillsboro, Harry Fallis and Hugh Dole, of Pierceville, were callers here Saturday, Mrs. Ingram and daughter Mary, of Moores Hill, were callers in town Friday. Prof. and Mrs. B. W. Aldrich, of Moores Hill, were callers here one day last week. J. E. Utz, south of town who has been in very poor health, is able to be out again. Walter Robinson and Hertha Whit latch, of Pierceville, were in town Sun day evening, John Mack and daughter, of Cincin nati, visited Jerry Mack and family here last week. Mrs. Fred Jackson, of Osgood, was the guest of Alta Paugh Friday night and Saturday, Mrs. Z. J. Kelly, of Moores Hill, visited her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Steele, here last week, Mrs. Bidner and daughter Delta, of near Stumkes Corner, were shopping here Saturday. The M. E.8.8. are making arrange ments for a Children’s Day service in the near future. Mrs. E. C. Powell was operated on in Cincinnati last week. At present she is recovering nicely. Mrs. Harry Weloh and daughter Lucils, of near Moores Hill, were sho ping in town Thursday. The many friends of Nellie Toole gave her a postcard shower last Wed nesday in honor of her twentieth birth day. G. W. Toole and wife, Mrs. Lou Laws and children and Will Fleming and family attended Mr. Wilson's funeral at Elrod Sunday. Chas. Bateman, of Stringtown, accom panied by Lizzie Mander and sister Miss Busteed, of Pierceville, attended church here Sunday night. Mrs. E. H. Wood and Mrs. Pearl Dean are attending St. Assembly, at Indianapolis, this week, as delegate f rom the Esther lodge, D. of R. Rev. Cross delivered an excellent ser man here Sunday night. While en route to Milan from Stringtown his horse be came frightened, turned over the rig and threw the occupants to the ground, himself, wife and little daughter were bruised and considerably shaken, or escaped without serious injuries. The league officers of the year are as follows: President, Floyd Kissel; first vice-president, Nina Austin; second vice president, Bernice Pendry; third vice-prsident, Mrs. Cora Woolery; fourth vice-president, Carroll Pendry; secretary, Grace Spencer; treasurer, Bernice Pendry; organist, Lelia Dever and Junior league superintendent, Mrs. Jas. Connelley. Grace Pate spent part of last week in Versailles. Chas. and Albert Grimes were at Blood Sunday. Manley Bruce, of Sparta, was in town Thursday evening. Will Glover, of Moores Hill, was here Saturday afternoon, Walter Robnson, of Pierceville, was a caller here Saturday. Nellie Johnson, of Elrod, spent Mon day with friends here, Mrs. Anna Gray, of Versailles, was a caller here Saturday, Clara Langwell spent Sunday with Chas. Horton and wife. Mrs. Ella Parsons, of Delaware, was in town one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Pendry visited in Swit zerland county over Sunday. Edna Wise, of Moores Hill, spent Sunday with relatives here. Elda Chance, of Chesterville, was a business caller here Saturday. Mrs. Howard Rouse and son Sheldon, spent Thursday on north side. Leora Kissel south of town, visited relatives in town over Sunday. Henry Vollmer and wife, of Pierceville were in town Sunday afternoon. E. G. Abbott returned from his trip through Mississippi last Friday. Grandma Dever has been spending a few days with her children in town. Mrs. Harrison Benham, of Conn, spent Thursday at the Fleming home. Bert Connelley, of Pendleton, was a business caller here the last of the week. Mrs. Joe Stout and daughters, of Conn, spent Thursday with Mrs.,Coons. Clarence Steinmetz and family spent Sunday with the former's parents here. Jesse Conyers and family and Edith and Emma Voss spent Sunday in Dills boro. Phillip Porter and family spent Sun day with the former’s mother east of town. Cottage prayer meeting was held at the home of Floyd Kissel’s Monday night. Father Olhrist, of Aurora, held services at the home of Jos Middler Sunday. Dr. Clyde Van Osdel, of Cincinnati, was greeting old friends here the last of the week. Prof. Fagley and Hortense. Martin, of Moores Til, were driving in town Fri day evening. Quite a number of Milan’s republicans attended the convention at Stumkes Corner Saturday. John Edwards and Adelade Foster, of Moores Hill, were callers in town Thursday evening. Rev. D. P. Lyston and family, of Gurney, Ind., are welcomed to Milan, as permanent citizens. Carroll Pendry will have charge of the league services next Sunday night Subject: ‘God’s Unseen Protection.” Lelia Dever, Nina Austin and Mollie Thompson attended the recital at Moores Hill, Thursday afternoon given by Fay Marshall. A mistake was made last week in re gard to the dedication of the Catholic church. This will not take place until later in the summer. Quite a number from here attended the lecture at Versailles, May 12, by EK S Shumaker of the American Anti- Saloon League. The lecture proved to be more than ordinary. The memorial services will be held at the M. E. church Sunday, May 24, at 2:30, instead of the Baptist church as was Stated last week, Rev. Cross will deliver the address. Everyone invited. Lane Pryor and son Carl, Charles and Howard Rouse and Chas. Shockley were called to Versailles Thursday as witnesses on the case of Henry Noble on the B. O. railroad.
