Salot is taking depositions to prove that the late John Well-hoefer and John, Fisher, of Seattle, Wash., are, or rather, were one and thesame man. % •John Wellhoefer, it will be remembered, died January last in Mercy hospital. . During, liis brief existence on earth John Wellhoefer had more marital troubles than is alloled to the ordinary -man; He was married three times; divorced twice and died leaving two women who claimed to be hiswidow, . *Wife No. 1 was, according to all accounts, a good woman. But she.died and left John a widow. It was a sad day for John, the day. of his first wife sftiatrimony for him after that time was a series of domestic upheavals with few or no intermittant lulls. Wife No. 2 was a’ persona non -grata and John and she separated. A divorce followed and John married wife No. 3. The third experiment was no better than the second and a separation followed. Then wife No. 3 secured a divorce and John went back to hve with wife No. 2. After many public lights John and one of his wives went to Seattle where He lived under the na™e of John Fisher. Having considerable wealth he bought some real estate in the name.of John Fisher. Bast winter he had occasion to appear in aterloo to fight a lawsuit which one of his wives had brought against him and while there he was taken sick.^ A. fc'Y days later lie was brought to Dubuque for treatment! Before he died he made a will in the name of John Wellhoefer in favor of Mrs. Wellhoefer and now there are two women claiming to be his widow. In addition to this there is a tangle in Seattle as to whether John Wellhoefer and-John Fisher are one and the same man. To prove that he was Dr, ftleCavthy and Attorney. J. C.
