First Formal Session Held at the Hotel Mecca Tuesday Evening.Tde National Editorial Convention Is being held at the new Hotel Mecca In Chicago. Delegates began to arrive In ChicagoMonday last. The 400 delegate* proper represent nearly 1.1,000 uewH-pnper* of the United Mate*. Each delegate in order to le a delegate must represent at leant twenty-11 vo publications. Sessions of the conven-tlon were held In the bond parlors each morn logn. j. price. from 0:30 o'clock to noon. The first formal session of the convention was opened in the parlors of the hotel at H o’clock Tuesday. A large audience wan present, which completely filled the spacious apartments aud overflowed into the balconies. The editors were given a hearty greeting of wolcotue from the World's Fair fiuthnrlttci. the city government, and the local branch of the association, and responses were made by tiov. 1'eck of Wisconsin and Byron J. Price, National President.
