Various re-porta ore in circulation respecting this unfortunate affair, but the following is a brief statement nf the particulars, so for as wo Iiuvr been able to gather them*It appears, that on Saturday evening Inst. Mr. lXtVis being very tnucli intoxicated, called at the house of Mr. llot»ert Fluker, and having coded Mr, F.. to the gate, afi«r z few moments conversation, Davis became abusive, «ntl finally assaulted Fluki-r, who being less athletic, was badly beaten in tho affray—others in the mean time, Interfered and parted them. But Davis still dissatisfied, again assaulted Flu-k*-rf swearing that ho inUn ded “to bear him to death/’ Fluker, however* by till* time had drawn a pocket knife, and warned Davis of the fact, and not to approach him, at tho pent of his life. Davis rushed upon him—-threw him, and while upon him, received a wound upon the side of tho throat, which dividing the jugular vein, he died jn a f«w minutes.
