Two Roscoe sisters, De- Ann Lynn and June Colby, daughters of Mr and Mrs Dean Colby, 13570 Beaver Dr. who are members of Girl Scout Troop 415 of the Rock River Valley Council, have been chosen for wider 21st One of the highlights of June's experience will be to pack her pack horse and ride off for a six-day pri mitive camping adventure thrusagebrush flats, over rocky trails, and through lush canyons. Opportunities for Summer La7z June will attend an event called ‘‘Saddle Straddle’' which will take place at Girl scout National Center West in Wyoming beginning June They will get a close-up view of a rodeo and learn about Western life, while ex ploring the West on horse back June has her own horse and rides daily. Forty Girl Scouts from all over the USA were chosen to parti cipate in this event DeAnn has been selected to attend ‘Kansas Sampler’, a National Wider Opportuni ty for Girl Scouts over 14 years of age, sponsored by Kaw Valley Girl Scout Cou ncil, Topeka, Kansas At this event, girls will share in the uniqueness of Kansas by participating in a variety of experiences, in cluding exploration of agri culture, archaeology, eco systems and cultures DeAnn will stay with a Home Hospitality family for three days, and then meet with 104 girl scouts from 33 states and two foreign countries to tour Topeka, before leaving for their in terest areas Among these interest areas will be stay ing on a farm, digging in an archaeological dig site in central Kansas, camping on the shores of Lake Pe rry outside Topeka and stu dying eco-systems, and st aying at Haskell Indian Jr College while learning about Indians in Kansas and doing Indian craft work.
