Marian Nowakowski (Nowak), 87, died early yesterday morning in his home, 816 Vine street, fol lowing a lingering illness. The remains are at the Wis niewski Funeral home, 810 Eliza beth street, from where services will be held at 8:30 a. m. tomor row to Holy Cross church at 9 a. m. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. Surviving Nowakowski are his sons, Stanley, William and Leo, daughters, Mrs. Frances Widlow ski, Mrs. Sophie Nemanich and Mrs. Veronica Baudino, a brother, Frank, of Burton, Ohio, 30 grand children and 30 great grandchil dren. Born in Poland, Nowakowski had been a resident of Joliet for the past 65 years. He was one of the founders of the Holy Cross church. He was employed by the American Steel and Wire company and as maintenance man at Holy Cross church and school until his retire ment 18 years ago.
