I *. The state track meet, run off at Pittsburg last Friday and Saturday, turned out to be a mighy fast affair. Emporia Teachers' Yellowjackets capture the event, with their big three. Kuek, Weber and Williams led their team mates and fought their way to 58 points.Kuek, their premier field event man, leading with a world's record heave of 214 feet, 2£: inches in javelin, and a conference, record of 50 feet, 1£ inches in the shot, and a first in the discus., .From the first event on the result was clear. Pittsburg Teachers finished second, 46£ points; Southwestern third, with 15J; Baker fourth,' with 15; Bethany and C. of E. at tie for fifth with 10 each; Bethel was, seventh ;with 7; McPherson 8th with 4 and' St. Mary's ninth with 3. Washburn, and Friends, tied for tenth with 2 points and Hays was twelfth with 1.A total, of four conference records were wrecked and one more equaled. Javelin, shot, high jump and mile run, all fell, while the two-mile event ■\v,as';tied.'In addition to these the-two-twenty yard dash and the ’ two_twenty yard .hurdle records.
