Flag Drill With 100 Taking Part. One of Features of Event More than 1,000 pupils of the Connersville city schools took part in the May Day program at the Haw kins Playground Friday afternoon. The event was staged under the di rection of the physical training de partment of the schools. Miss Grace Funk, physical director, was assisted by other teachers in preparing and presenting the program. Several hundred persona, patrons and friends of the schools, attended the event. The program was one of the most unique and spectacular in the history of the playground. Included in the program were the followine: English Maypole dance, sixth grade girls: folk games, second and third grades; flag drill, fourth and fifth grades; free exercise drill, sixth, seventh and eighth grade boys; wand drill, seventh and eighth grade girls; folk dance, high school girls. Approximately 4090 pupils took part in the flag drill. Other program numbers were given by large groups of children from the four - grade buildings and the high school. A. A. Glockzin, Miss Helen Holter and the high school orchestra assist ed in the musical part of the pro gram. The May Day event originally was planned for May 11 but was post poned on account of the weather conditions
