Geo. Peters of Champaign is foreman of the machine shop and J.Segrist is foreman of the foundry. They are putting in a steam heating plant and will also install an electric lighting system.The East Moline Co. has commenced the erection of their office, which will be located opposite the C.. R. L ft P. station. It will only be a temporary structure, as the plans contemplate the erection of a two-story building. They have heretofore had their office in the vacant factory building now being occupied by the Root ft Vandervoort Co.Mrs. Ed Wells and children havegone to Burlington, L wa, to her folksafter finding that th* work of keeping boarding house ie^aired too much attention and was injuring her hfeaith. Mr. Wells and his son. however, remain and will see East Moline grow.The poetoffice will soon be located in the new depot, where a fine system of boxes has been arranged. To accommodate the increasing business it has been found necessary to increase the number of boxes three times.Peter Auers of Rock Island is unloading material for the erection of a sixteen-room boarding house. The house beng erected by A. H. Denhardt will be one of the finest in the town when completed. A solid sandstone foundation gives the house a striking appearance and makes Ms house the finest cm Main street.Joseph Geisler of Watertown, formerly agent at the C.t R. I. ft P station, is now conducting the Riverside hotel at Watertown. In connection therewith he also manages the only *bus in town and has a fine conveyance for the transportation of people to any part of the countryMiss Ora Miller is stenographer and bookkeeper for the Root ft Vandervoort Engineering Co..
