Kenneth D. Haney Kenneth D. Haney, 63, of Deacon Road, Sheeps Rock, Clearfield, died Friday, May 14, 1999, at his home. He was born April 17, 1936, in Clearfield. Mr. Haney retired from Law rence Township after many years of service. He was a veteran of the US. Army and the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean Con flict. Mr. Haney was a life member of the American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6, the F. Michael Sicks Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post and the Sec ond Ward Fire Co., all of Clear field. In addition, he was a member of the AMVETS of Philipsburg and the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812. He is survived by his wife, Linda J. (Leigey) Haney; a son, Timothy Haney of Jacksonville, N.C.; three stepchildren, Jen nifer, Philip and Jessica; three grandchildren, Robert, Alex andria and Ariel. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters, David C. Haney Sr., Mrs. Allen (Marlene) Gearhart and Mar garet Haney, all of Clearfield, Edward Haney of Sylvester, Ga., Mrs. Robert (Rebecca) Fenton of St. Marys, and Mrs. David (Gale) Washie of Lanse. He was preceded in death by his mother, Freda (Haney) Lanich on Aug. 22, 1995, and his stepfather, Terrence ‘Cat’ Lanich on April 5, 1980. Graveside services will be held at Centre Cemetery, Hyde, at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Robert H. Van Natta officiating. Military honors will be ac corded at the graveside by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Post. Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, is in charge of the arrangements. Betsy Lucas LUDINGTON, Mich. — Betsy Lucas of Ludington, Mich., died Sunday, May 16, 1999, in Rochester, Minn. Born Jan. 21, 1950, in Bigler, she was married on June 10, 1972, to Lyle W. Lucas, who survives. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from Slippery Rock State University. Mrs. Lucas was a teacher, a charter captain, a pet cremator and most recently a cashier at Ponderosa in Ludington. She was a member of the National Rifle Association and Lakeshore Animal Friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Katherine Harris of Erie; two sons, Brooks Lucas and Travis Lucas; a brother, Gary Harris of Erie; and two sisters, Myrtle Parker of Medina, Ohio, and Sally Wilcox of Chicago, Ill. A meeting of friends and fam ily will be held at the family residence in Ludington on Wed nesday at 2 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn. Rose Mislosky DUNEDIN, Fla. Rose Mislosky of Dunedin, Fla., and formerly of Madera, died Mon day, May 17, 1999, in Dunedin. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madera, with Msgr. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Interment will follow at Im maculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Madera. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Msgr. McGee. Edward J. Berko RAMEY — Edward J. Rerko, 74, of Ramey died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at the James E. Van Zandt Veterans Medical Center, Altoona, Kruise Funeral Home. Ramey is in charge of the arrangements. Lisbeth Hale CLEVELAND, Ohio— Lisbeth Hale, 77, of Cleveland, Ohio, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at her home. Born in Forest in 1922, she was a daughter of John and Wilhelmina Ostrosky. She is survived by her son, Roger, and daughter, Ann Mc Cracken, both of Cleveland, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Eric of Arizona and Arthur of Reedsville; and five sisters, Ruth Farley of New York, Louise Ellis of Forest, Esther Hilderbrand of Philips burg, Martha Holmes of Florida and Naomi Maser of Massa chusetts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; sisters Bertha Crimi and Hilda Murphy; and brothers Bill and John. Minnie L. Grove ROSEVILLE —— Minnie L. Grove, 73, of Roseville died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at her home. She was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Houtzdale, a daughter of George and Julia Kassab. Mrs. Grove was retired as a self-employed tax accountant for MG Management Co. She was an active member of the Roseville Democratic Club, Warren Ellis and St. Donald Catholic Church. She served as the Macomb County commissioner from 1990-92, and was a past Macomb County Civil Service commis sioner. She is survived by her children, Mrs. Tom (Linda) Brazzel, Gerald and his wife Diane, Mrs. Ken (Kathy) Rivard and Beatte Grove, the wife of Dan Fields. Also surviving are these grandchildren: Christy, Jeremy, Justin, Adam, Derek and Ken neth; and these brothers and sisters: Jacob, Gabriel, David, Edward, Raymond Kassab, Cecelia Remeselnik, Katherine Hocking, Theresa Brennan and Elizabeth Chew. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, and a sister, Hazel Kassab Services were held at St. Donald Church, Roseville, with the Rev. Michael Donovan of ficiating. Interment is at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Roseville. Kaul Funeral Home, Roseville, handled the arrangements. Gail E. Hunter SMITHSBURG, Md. — Gail E. Hunter, 52, of Smithsburg, Md., died at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, May 15, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md. Born June 1, 1946, in Pitts burgh, she was a daughter of James B. Sr. and Dorothy (Boyce) Byers. Early in life she lived in Mahaffey. Mrs. Hunter graduated from Harmony High School, Mahaf fey. She received her bachelor of science degree in home eco nomics from West Virginia State University. On Oct. 2, 1971, in Mahaffey, she wed Samuel C. Hunter, who survives. From 1969-71, Mrs. Hunter was employed by Pennsylvania Co operative Extension Service as a 4-H and home economics agent. Since 1972 she worked as a real estate agent, the past 20 years at Coldwell Banker Hopkins Asso ciates, Hagerstown. She and her husband also owned and operated SCH Polled Herefords, a cattle and farming operation. Mrs. Hunter was a member of the Ringgold Church of Christ Ringgold, Md. She was also a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau, the Maryland Association of Real tors, and the Maryland and Pennsylvania Polled Hereford Association. She was a member and past director of the Pen Mar Regional Association of Realtors where she received several awards including “Realtors, and the Year” in 1995, the John Younkins Memorial Award for High Standards and Ethics, Associa tion Distinguished Sales Asso ciate in 1988, and Distinguished Service Award in 1998. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hunter is survived by a sister, Martha Byers-White of Danville, Il.3; a brother, James B. Byers Jr. of Mahaffey; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Byers on May 8, 1999. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. June 6 at the Ringgold Church of Christ in Ringgold.
