Ten Albuquerque Public School high school seniors have been given $150 college scholarships by radio station KABQ. Money for the scholarships was raised during a benefit program last June during which many Mexican and New Mexican artists donated their performances. Spanish and Chicano club sponsors at the ten APS high schools selected the following students to receive this year's scholarships: Monica Zamora, Albuquerque High; Yvonne Dimas, Cibola; Cynthia Rames, Del Norte; Michael Garcia, Eldorado; Christina Maestas, Highland; Maria Repik, Rio Grande; Steven Tafoya, Sandia; Susana Mercado, Valley; and Israela Garcia, West Mesa. KASQ is planning another scholarship benefit concert this June and again next year will award scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
