Activities of the past year were highlighted at the annual Achievement Day program for Ironwood, Bessemer, Ramsay and Wakefield 4-H club members. The program was held re cently at the Washington School, Bessemer. Individual clubs exhibited their completed projects and were awarded achievement ribbons. Project areas on dis play were crafts, sewing, knit ting, crocheting, photography, indoor gardening, food and nutrition, macrame, African heritage, ‘‘Karing for Kids. Passport to Understanding,” needlepoint, hooked rugs and woodworking. After the public viewed the exhibits, the following Busy Bee members opened the evening program with the pledge of allegiance and the 4- H_ pledge: Jenny Anderson, Tina Ashlin, Kelly Gheller, Cindy Grabow, Lisa Mattson, Lori Mattson, Michelle Pyk kola and Julie Larson. An nouncer Debbie Karger intro duced Washington School principal, Alfredo Ciufetelli, who welcomed the audience. A dress revue followed with the 4-H clothing girls modeling their hand-seven garments. Liette Casanova provided the piano music for girls modeling while Cheryl Griffin narrated. Busy helping the girls back stage were Mrs. Claudia Tai valmaa and Mrs. Helen Brace. Lynne Elias, Iron wood, Karla Karling, Kim Ja cobs and Dale Berg, Besse mer, and Joan Geroux, Wake field, were selected dress re vue winners by judges Mrs. Anne Nelson, Gogebic Onton agon home economist, and Miss Josephine Brighenti Each winner was presented with a dress revue medal. “Share the Fun talent show winners provided enter tainment during the evening. The Bessemer Hot Shots fol lowed the dress revue with their humorous skit ‘Hot Shot Imitators.”’ Imitating famous celebrities were: Genine Sten gard, Scott Pospeck, Michele Baksic, Jodie St. Ours, Dawn Banfield, Jill Wroblewski, Stephanie Marchello, Cheryl Nyman, Dan Matonich, Patti Develski, Mary Jo Facchinel lo, Ann Marie Tourville, Tam my Selin, Mary Lynn Koski, Christina Cowdery, Diane Ma zanec, Laura Karget and Jon Rund. Changing the mood was Joanne Slade from the Help ing Hands 4-H Club with the piano selection ‘‘Beth.” The Bessemer Blue Jeans took the audience on a quick trip through the holidays with their skit ‘Every Day Is A Holiday.” Lori Beck, Dale Berg, Tracy Berg, Julie Brace, Michelle Brown, Susie Deney, Tammy Farragh, Judy Jacobs, Kim Jacobs, Wendy Johnson, Karla Karl ing, Sue Mattella, Kristine Pawlicki, Denise Rolando, Jill Sliva, and Lori Stella were ap propriately dressed in cos tumes depicting the many hol idays. Recognition of the 4-H lead ers and a presentation of members’ certificates of com pletion was made by Mrs. Charlotte Kolesar, 4-H pro gram assistant, to the follow ing club leaders: Donna Brown, Mary Koski, Diane Pawlicki, Helen Brace, Pat Pospeck, Mirian Kund, Joyce Jacobs, Pat Mattson, Marge Anderson, Marilyn Forslund, Ernest and Joanne Mattson, Carol Matt son, Jerry Lauzon, Marie Hodges, Ruth Maki, Claudia Taivalmaa, Helen Luoma, Melba Kivi, Isabelle Brozzo, Jean Evenstad, Kathy Lantta, Richard and Susan Slade, Russell and Carol Saari, Saima Walkonen, Nancy Kan gas, Shirley Kangas, Dorinda Holm, Elizabeth Londo, Marie Hongisto, Sandy Bertetto, Joyce LeGassa, Sandy Rich ter, Vernon Carr, Pat Foster and Miss Sue Woracheck. Closing the program were the Wakefield Crazy 8's 4-H Chub members: Sheila Doney, Angela Bertetto, Dana Delich, Suzette Pa quette, Judy LeGassa, Lisa Aukee and Lisa’ Schneck, who led the audience in sing ing ‘America the Beautiful.” Cliff Maki, Robert Taival maa and Bob Loftin from the Erwin Sawdust Kickers hand ed out the programs to the public. Club leaders Mrs. Mary Koski of the Bessemer Hot Shots and Mrs. Donna Brown of the Bessemer Blue Jeans were the program chairmen. Assistant leaders Mrs. Pat Pospeck and Mrs. Miriam Rand were responsible for the appropriate gym decorations.
