Primary is victory for Klan,»ByGARYCLARKLODI — Ku Klux Klan leader Dale Reusch says his victory last week in the Democratic vice presidential primary in West Virginia is proof the Klan speaks for middle America, and he says he'll accept the vice presidential spot if it's offered at the Democratic convention.“My feelings,” the 36-year-old Imperial Wizard of the Invisible Empire of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan said yesterday, “is that people are looking for someone to present the issues to the Democratic convention.”\REUSCH SAYS his victory over Ray Rol-linson of Columbia. N.J., was made possible because of Reusch's Klan affiliation.West Virginia klansmen told voters of Reusch’s stand on major issues, he said, and the word “went from month to mouth andhand to hand.“The Klan actually made me that election,” he said, “They told ’em who I was. They voted for me.”Hie issues. Reusch said, revolve around his anti-abortion, anti-drug, anti-gun registration, anti-foreign aid stands.“This country is based on middle class working people.” Reusch, an engine tester at Ford Motor Co.’s Brook Park plant, said.“AND THE PEOPLE need help,” he added. “I think we’ve neglected the American people.”Although some observers felt Reusch’s victory in the vice presidential primary was an empty one because the presidential candidate usually picks a running mate at the Democratic convention, Reusch said “I’m gonna change that.“I'll present mvself on the issues that peo-says Reuschpie demand,” he said, adding that, if offered the vice presidential nomination, “I’ll accept that position.”The actual vote totals for last week’s vice presidential primary have not been completed yet. although Reusch claims his analysis indicates he won 62 per cent of the vole.A Kanawha County, W. Va. elections official denied'yesterday Reusch's charges that the vote count in the vice presidential primary was being delayed. But the worker said “I don’t know any particular reason why unofficial vote counts are not yet available.“THERE’S SOMETHING wrong down there, Reusch said, “This may be the biggest cover-up since Watergate.”Reusch figures he did best in Kanawha Countv, where he visited in 1974 during the heat of a textbook revolt when parents struggled . against a new set of school books they considered unfit for their children.
