2F The Anniston Stuer sunday, May 18, 1975 ASHLAND — The seniors of Clay County High school will receive their diplomas in ceremonies planned for May 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. Baccalaureate services will be at 7 p.m., May 25 in the auditorium with the Rev. Bill Gunn, pastor of First United Methodist Church, delivering the sermon. The graduation program, planned and to be presented by the seniors themselves, will include speeches by Brenda Curlee, valedictorian, and Amelia Esters, salutatorian. Brenda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Curlee.; Amelia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis B. Esters. The 51 candidates for graduation are: Wilbur Bell, Phillip Brooks, Stanley Brooks, Sandra Browning, Richard Bryan, Jocelyn Burkhead, Jimmy Cash, Glenn Cleveland, Donald Crawford, William Crawford, Brenda Curlee, Amelia Esters, James Foster, Keith Gibson, Sheila Giddens, Sandra Hallman, Andy Hayden, Franklin Horn, Rhonda Hubbard, Wade Jenkins, Jan Jones, Sandy Jones, Michael Knight, Glenn Magee, Suellen Mattox, Timothy McKinney, Debra Mitchell, Sandra Mitchell, Karen Nappier, Russell Nolen, Donald Norwood, Phillip Pierce, Patrice Poierier, George Pruet, Nancy Pruet, Suzianne Robinson, Anne Patricia Rochester, Edgar Paul Ross, Robert Schoggins, Angelia Sims, James Earl Sims, Ronald Smith, Jimmy Watts, Gerald Wesley, Rodney West, Ronald Williams, Charles Williamson, Paula Williamson, Dwight Yarbrough, Glenda Morris Young and John Wynn. About the cover A group of seniors at Jacksonville High School donned caps and gowns recently to pose for a color photo to grace the cover of The Star's first graduation edition. The photo was made by Ken Elkins. The edition spotlights 2,146 high school seniors scheduled to graduate this month throughout the six-county area of Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Talladega, Clay and Randolph served by The Star.
