A young Deming man was charged Friday with murder and two other persons were charged as accessories to murder in the death of a man whose body was found May 5 in a mine shaft north of Deming. The Luna County Sheriff's office identified the victim Friday as John Jacobs Holm, 64, a re tired serviceman who had lived at the SkyTel Motel. Charged with murder was Cur tis Franklin Flowers, 22, of Dem ing. He was under arrest Friday night at Williston, N. C., near Fargo, where he was being held after being arrested April 21 in Fargo for evading a motel charge bill in Williston, Flowers earlier this year was placed on probation by District Judge Norman Hodges after being charged with burglary of Anderson-Greeman Motors. Flowers also was charged with the unlawful taking of a vehicle, a 1958 MGA, owned by the victim. Anthony Du Perron, of 5633 Williamsburg Road, Williams burg, Mich., was being held with out bond in a Traverse City, Mich., jail, pending extradition to Deming on a charge of being an accessory to murder. Du Perron Friday was taken before the district court judge in Traverse City and the prosecu ting attorney filed a complaint against him for being a fugitive from justice. The FBI and other law enforce ment officers were seeking Nadine Quinn, alias Machine Quinn, of 3910 E. Commerce Drive, San Antonio, who was charged with being an accessory to murder. All the charges were filed by Fred De La O, Luna County Chief Deputy Sheriff, before Magistrate Manuel T. Holguin. De La O said the murder, in which Holm was shot once in the back of the head by a .22 cali ber rifle, apparently took place about April 18. De La O went to the Rocket Pawn Shop in Alamogordo Fri day afternoon to pick up the .22 believed to have been used in the murder, and to pick up a .30-30 rifle believed to have been carried by one of the suspects. He was busy marking evidence Friday night and plans to pick up the prisoners and bring them to Deming for trial. The Sheriff's Office said an argument may have led to the murder, although details were not released. The badly decomposed body was found inside a mine shaft on the Hyatt Ranch 34 miles north of Deming and about 2 miles south of the Luna-Grant County line. It was discovered by fire fighting crews working on a brush fire.
