J. V. Wallace’s WillhtcDisputed By SisterMrs. Oe«treich*r Asks Probate Of Copy Of Will j°Original Of Wfiich She Alleges Was MisplacedMrs. Rachel Oestreicher, sister of J. V. Wallace, wealthy real estate owner of this city, who died in Florida on March 30, 1933, following a search for health, has filed with the Roman clerk of the superior court an application for probate of what she purorts to be a copy of the last will of the deceased.It was stated that the original either was lost or d^troycd by some person other than Wallace and wit hot his knowledge.It was stated that the will was [drawn in October of 193 2, in his own handwriting, bequeathing his property equally to Mrs. Oes-treicher and a brother, Leo Wallace. The value of the estate at the time of his death was stated to be around $5 00,000.A number of affidavits also were filed in support of such a will having been drawn and deposited ina trunk in a room, J. V. Wallace occupied in the Wallace building, which he jointly owned.The will whidh was probated about a week after his death in 193 3 bequeathed $2 5,000 to Mrs. Oestreicher and amounts to other relatives, together with a $10,000 bequest to the city of Salisbury to buy wood and coal for the needy, with the residue going to the brother, Leo C. Wallace, with whom the deceased was associated in the real estate and dry goods business for many years.A number of prominent lawyers of this city, together with Cansler and Henderson of Charlotte, have been employed both by Mrs. Oes-treicher and Leo Wallace, named executor under the 193 3 will filed. The case will be heard by the local clerk of the court some time next week. inid8a
