Community delegations from throughout Kaufman — county, headed by County Agent C. A. Munch, W. W. Biard, secretary manager of the Kaufman Cham ber of Commerce, and W. H. Love of College Mound, president of the newly formed county agricul tural advisory council, are ex pected to attend the seventh an nual short course Friday of this week at the Texas State College for Women (C. S. A.), Denton. A letter from the agricultural council has been mailed by Mr. Biard as secretary to community councilmen and representative farmers over the county. “We are co-operating with Mr. Munch, county agent, in urging the farmers and others to organize by communities to provide their own transportation,” Mr. Biard said. “Parties can share in the expense of the gas, making the trip inexpensive. It is an impor tant event for the farmers as well as all others who attend as it will give us first-hand prac tical demonstration of some of the most successful experiments in crop rotation ever undertaken in this state.” O. B. Martin, director of co operative home economic and agricultural extension work at A. M. college and Miss Mamie Lee Hayden, extension special ist in home industries, will be two outstanding speakers at the short course. Both men and women are en couraged to attend the short course this year which is to be held in co-operation with the ex tension service of A. M. college and the state experiment farm No. 6 near Denton. Special ar rangements have been made to care for children through the C. I. A. kindergarten department, making it possible for entire fam ilies to attend. Approximately 2, 000 guests are expected. The program, arranged by Fred W. Westcourt, C. I. A. rural arts director, and Paul B. Bunkle, di rector of the experiment farm in cludes: 9 a. m. inspection of the college; 10:30 a. m. assembly, col lege auditorium, address by O. B. Martin; 12:15 p. m. spreading of picnic tuncs. The women’s afternoon pro gram includes: 1:30 p. m. enter tainment by C. I. A. department of speech; 1:45 p. m. “Texas Hand-Made Rugs of Beauty and Quality,” Miss Mamie Hayden; 2:15 p. m. “Floor and Wall Fur nishings and Furniture for the Living Room,” by Miss Mary Star Taylor, instructor of interior dec oration at C. L A., 2:45 p. m. style show. Throughout the afternoon a program for the men will be held at the experiment farm, about three miles out of Denton.
