CITY AND COUNTY.Prom Thiurtday'i Daily.—The wife of Thomas Chadwick is lying quite ill at the home of his parents on West Court street.—Sam Angelo, a carpenter living on Voorhees street, fell from a scaffold Tuesday and broke his leg near the ankle.— Miss Lottie Spears, of Ashland, is visiting the family of her brother, Policeman Spears, on West Morton avenue.— Mr. and Mrs. Pueblo, who have beenvisiting relatives in the south side of the county, left last evening for their home in Belleville, Kansas.— Marriage licenses have been issued to Wm. J. Malam ami Miss Annie M. Ramang, Chas. T. Mackness and Miss Lucy A. Mawson, James Buchanan and Miss Mary M. Holly.—Vicar General Hickey came downfrom Springfield last evening to pav a visit to Rev. Fr. Brady, pastor of the church of Our Savior, who is lying very ill at the priest house on Fast Courtstreet.—Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wild, of Mur-ravville, who have been guests for a few days at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Robt. Jackson, and family on North Prairie street, left Wednescay morning fora visit with their son, John Wild,and family at Shelbyville.—The new three story business blocks to be erected by the Hockenliull brothers, one of which is already under way, will undoubtedly be among the meat solidly constructed buildings in the city,judging from the foundation now being laid on East State street.—The lightning rod fiend is again abroad in the land. A faimer not far distant from Jacksonville recently escaped losing $400 to one of the smooth-tongued swindlers. He finally got out of the job by giving his check for part of the money and then telegraphing the bank not to pay it.—About 11 o’clock this forenoon the pressed brick front of the new building being erected on Court street by Thomas Burke fell with a tremendous crash, scattering bricks, mortar and timber in all directions.
