Five candidate* were put in nnniinetiou for the XIoum of Commune, vi*., S. J. Lane, Jnmee Masson, Thomas Gordon, Dr. Barnhart, aud \V. U. Stephen*, all of Owen Sound. The latter retired. On the first ballot the vote gave Lane the greatest number of votes, after which he was pitted against each of the others.
