On Tuesday ihe 9 inst. tho 8tagediatiou Bouse, at Clitherall, owned and kef-1 by Mr. H. Murdiok, waa burned to the ground. The lire was first discovered about tbreo o'clock in the morning. On enter the • roorh where the fire was first discovered, a firkin of lsriibnrst open, sending the mad flames in every direction. It was’feith tawfeb -difficulty that * the lives of the inmatfs were saved, as the firo got into the beds, and some of the children had their feet burned slightly before awakening. Very little wm saved, so the loss was quite severe, some of the family not being able to get' out a single garment. The | cause Of the fire is unknown.—70«f.
