Blackhawk.My what a big frost we had Sunday night. No wonder the weather is so cool, just think in January there wa* a few times when we had the house all open and not a bit of fire in the stoves and no a* a fire is an absolute necessity, in May, for comfort.W. Conaway is erecting a dwelling, butcher shop and a barber shop on Simpson Ave. We are always glad to see the town grow.Dolly Burton was the guest of Arpie Denton Sunday.Henry Payne and family spent Sunday with Dr. Foorand family,Dr. Foor has a chicken with five toes on its right foot.Mrs. Laura Miller and Halite andNettie Elliot called on Mrs. Jesse Try-*on Sunday.Mrs, Wilkins and daughter of Old Hill spent Wednesday with Chas. Wilkins and family.Mrs. J. O. Steffy and son Carl of Carlisla came Saturday to visit her parents W. H* Lee and family. They returned home Sunday.Miss Anna Lee visited her parents at Hill Top Saturday and Sunday.Mrs. Chas. Rudisel is ill at her home on West Main St.We know' we are going to have gravel roads sometime but don't you think it would be a good idea if those who live near a bad place in the road would donate a little time and work
