I like hot weather best.I am glad to know that the expenses of dear Bertie’s funeral are all paid; and she is at rest. I love my darling just the same, and she is safe withChrist. He doetlr all things well.The notice in the Jferahl was good; could not have been written better. She deserved it all. She has beenmuch to me all the years she lived. My heart would have been very dark and sad only for her. She will be repaid in time to come. I pray God tobless her when she shall live again, and he will.I am told the government will draft the Jews and Christians into the urmy. This news has brought grief and sorrow to these poor souls. A Jewish woman told me to-day about it, and said, ‘ What shall we do?” I replied, don’t fear, God will help us.” 1 love these poor Jews; they are kind people, and in trouble. May God help them and us. I shall send the JerusalemaGazette often; it is sfuall but very good.The ICedron is still flowing and weshall go again to a picnic on its banks. I made a drawing the last time I was there and shall send a sketch. Yes-terday, Sunday, we went about two miles, a party of seven, and sat on the rocks and ate our lunch, furnished by the old ladies.
