That Mr. T. P. Driggti, the editor of the Observer, in the course of the controversy, offended Mr. John P. Coleman, former deputy collector of the revenue there. Tlmtm few day* el nee Cole*man addressed an anti-Murphy meeting t in which he abused Dr fggs roundly. From this it seems that threats of violence were exchanged. Finally on Thursday the parties met. Both were armed. They drew their pistols Mmultanoousl5% and fired. Drlggs was wounded In the font or leg. Coleman was shot in the abdomen, Coleman walked to his residence totuly unaware thul he was hurt-But bis condition was soon discovered by some of his family.
