Burnell Pannill, chairman of the scholarship awards committee.Robert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene H. Copeland ofFieldale. His father is employed in the Towel Mill Cost Department.An outstanding student in Fieldale High School, Robert was among 13 top high school students who recently competed inexaminations and interviews at Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, Virginia.The 13 students were chosen from among 48 applicants tocompete for scholarships ranging from $4000 to $1580. Theusual procedure is to award the scholarships on a yearly basisrenewable each year upon the student’s maintaining a superiorstandard of academic work and proving his capacity for moral leadership.
