WASHINGTON — Posthumous award of the bronze star medal of the American Red Cross to one Navy and seventeen Army nurses from Upstate New York who died in World War Two, was announced here today by Basil O'Conner, Red Cross chairman. The awards, presented to the nearest of him, went to: Ensign Mary E. Feeney, of Ossining, and Lts. Maldred Aten, Bath; Helen B. Anderson, Rita F. Erard, Agnes K. Hallinan, and Katheryn L. McCarthy, Syracuse; Harnett E. Bridge, Rensselaer; Alice V. Butkowski, Jean V. Herko, and Archina K. Rosenthal, Buffalo; Florence T. Grewer, Rochester; Helen E. Hicks, Watkins Glen; Gertrude Mead, Little Falls; Gerda M. Mulack, Newburgh; Elizabeth L. Noon, Utica Florence Smith, Cobleskill, Arnela Weatherll and Jane M. Wilson, Binghamton
