BOLT OF LIGHTNING HITS KANE RESIDENCE Kane Republican, Friday. --- Four persons were stunned last night but escaped serious injury, when light ning during a four-hour storm struck dwelling on Tionesta avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob M. Fox, 227 Tioneste avenue, and their sons, Law rence, 86, and Lester, 27, were in the home when the host hit at about six o’clock last evening. Lawrence Fox was the only one who still felt after effects today, reporting an injury to his back. Considerable damage to the house resulted from the lightning. A large chimney was demolished, bricks being thrown as far as 23 feet to the lawn of the neighboring John D. Harre Feardence. Plaster was ripped off the walls of two bedrooms on the second floor and a few shingles were knocked off the roof. A large quantity of soot from the chimney was deposited in the cellar by the concussion. Lawrence Fox was shaving when the bolt struck and, whether or not from attraction of the steel instru ment he held in his hand, he was shocked more severely than the other members of the family. He was knocked several feet and almost para lyzed, reporting a feeling of numb ers which lasted three hours after the bolt hit. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Fox and Lester were in the dining room. Mrs. Fox, seated next to a hot air furnace regis ter, was reported stunned more se verely than the other two, but did not require medical attention.
