Upon learning the facts Col. Roosevelt im mediately wired his delegates at ‘arge that he released them from any obligation to himself and re quested that they cast their votes for President Taft thus giving the lat ter twenty delegates and the colonel but ten. Then the ex-president’s eight delegates wired that they would be blamed if they would vote for the stuffed prophet and there you are. Anyhow, Roosevelt's prompt “square deal’ spirit and action has won friends and delegates if he doesn't get a vote from Massa chusetts.
