A (Oilier aonleidc la WstMf a.Probably ti e moat remarkable killing; ew known in the annals of the history of fchii mountain region occcurred in that section i f Ihe county known ne Long Hop on last Sunday, the 12h, The facts, as we (rather them, are substantially as follows.A man by the namenf Wilburn Snyder, who had been in that sec. tion of the county for two or three years, and haying the reputation ol being a “bad man,’’ stealthily went to the lionn* of Mrs. Mary Aim Snyder (hie former wife whom lie abandoned many years ago) about8o’clock Sunday morning, and took by brute lorce n little girl ol fifteen summers, whom Mrs Snyder had mined Irom infancy, and dragged her from the house. The screams ond cries of tliecbildfor help were heard, und a general alarm brought many to aid in the rescue, among whom were Conley and W. E Snyder, sous of the kidnapper; and they alone, armed with Winchester rifi-s, followed the trail of their wicked parent until he and his prey were located in the dense and almost . impenetrable Long Hope Laurels. The hoys, knowing the dangerous character of their father, nud knowing that he was heavily armed, waited until he emerged Irom Ihe thicket, when they demanded the child. The demand was answered by a shot by I lie d'-sperudo’s pistol, The shot was returned by an almost simultaneous fire from the rifles in the hands of the pursuers,Iioth bullets taking effect in the ’ left breast of the desperate man, r and he dropped to the ground | dead, the author if not the An-I isher of one of the most beinoue crimes ever perpetrated in the mountains,
