Corner Stone of New Church Said Friday Mrs. E. A. Henry Performs the Ceremony Banquet and Speeches in the Even ing--A Brilliant Gathering. One of the most important events in the history of the city of Brandon was the laying of the corner stone, Friday sivernocon, of the magnifi cent new Presbyterian church which is now under course of erection. The new church is of the Roman esque style of architecture, 90 feet by 90 and built of stone and waite brick. The Weide arrangements are perfect including a basement 12 feet high with three entrances by way of the church. Here are situated the Sunday School room with nine class rooms, junior bible class and library all open ing out of the main room. A kitchen dining room, and boiler room, wake up the rest of the basement. The Aud torium is ampitheatre in style and with the large galleries on the three sides of the building will have a seat ing capacity of 1000. Two large stair ways will furnish access and egress to the galeries thus giving emple room for escape in case of fire. ‘The pulpit will be situated on the south end of the building with the choir dir ectly behind, on a raised gallery. A large new pipe organ costing $3000 will be installed, Uias making this part of the equipment very complete. The inside of te building will be furn ished in polished oak and it will be su perbly lighted with a large 60 light electrolier hung from the centre with @ number of additional lights along the sides.
