Minnie May, only daughter of Chilion and Harriett— Wiard Showier was born in Taylor county, Iowa on October 28,1880 and passed from j this life at the ClearView. . Home in Clearfield, Iowa on May 7, 1969, at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 21 .. days.She grew to young womanhood in this rural community and became a member of the Methodist Church which always remained the faith of her choice. The last survivor of this family, she was preceded in death by her parents and. .three (3) brothers,Milton W., J.O. (Ollie) and Lowell.On June 13, 1902, she was united in marriage to George W. Wood and to this union. . seven (7) children were born. Of these three (3) daughters, Hazel, Wilma and Wanda . . and two (2) sons, Joe and . . Harold preceded the mother in death, also the husband. . who passed away January 1 11953.Several of their early married years were spent on a homestead in western Nebraska, later a few years in Missouri and Kansas but for the most.. part Iowa was their home.Forgetful of self through., hardship and sorrow, her first concern always was for her family.Those who survive to mourn her passing are a son,Stanley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, a son Leonard and his wife, Lena of Omaha, Nebraska; six (6) grandchildren and seven (7) great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.A resident of the ClearView Home for nearly eight (8) years, she was so very patient in her helplessness and appreciative always for her care.A dear loving mother, a kind friend, a helpful neighbor will be remembered by all who knew her.
