CECIL JOHN ROODCecil John Rood,son of Roy and Ella Lyddon Rood was born December 18, 1908 on a farm southwest of Clearfield, Iowa and passed away May 2,1969 at h is home in Indianap- | olis, Indiana at the age of 60 years, four (4) months and...fourteen (14) days.He attended rural school .. and high school in Clearfield, graduating with the class of1925.On August 23, 1931, he ..was united in marriage to Mary Higlay. They made their., home in Des Moines, Iowa seven (7) years. In 1938, he went to work for Binks Corporation, and was still employed by them at the time of his death.The past ten (1 0) years they have lived in Indianapolis.He joined the Greenwood.. Methodist Church when a young man and later transferred his membership to the Clearfield United Methodist Church of which he remained a member until his death.He was a member of the Noble Lodge No 458 also a member of the Sycamore Golf Club in Indianapolis, Indiana; Elk... Lodge No. 13 and Indiana State Seniors Golf Association.He was preceded in death b his parents and one brother, Ea* rl..He is survived by his wife— Mary and one (1) brother, Harry Rood of Olympia, Washington and other relatives and a host of friends.vFinal rites were conducted from the Varner Funeral Home Tuesday, May 6,1969 with burial in the Clearfield Cemetery.
