MayWrongBy Dick BeckerUp in the Pacific Northwest they have a new' wrestling favorite —Jean Elbon. One of her latest triumphs occurred at Medford, Ore., where the paper said: “Not only is Miss Elbon probably the best looker broughtto Medford, but she is by far the best wrestler.”This wouldn’t be of much interest except for the fact that Miss Elbon is from Lincoln where she is known better as Iva Jean Noble. The Elbon came from Noble spelled backwards. The best known Noble in the squared circle around the Capital City has been Al, who was a good Golden Gloves heavyweight. Al is Jean’s brother. And it was Al who got her interested in wrestling. Al learned from a neighbor, a CycloneLindstrom, and then taught hissister. Jerry Adam, the local authority on wrestling also helped wuth the tutoring before Jean took off on the pro circuit.Jean's career began last September under promoter Man Mountain Dean Jr. She is now wrestling Miss Gerry Hunter, who is also manager of the pre-MISS NOBLE sent tour. The Medford paper also praises her, saying, “she is not a run-of-the-miil performer but is an outstanding student of the art ofwrestling. She specializes in use c the drop-kick, flying leg roil, flying head scissors, the Irish whip and breath-taking shouldertackles, maneuvers fans seldom see among feminine matsters.” Better keep an eye on this gal, Mr. Kreiger.
