Coal BasinWilliam McDonald, Helen Nations. The Art Exhibit that Mies Randolph has been taking1 around to the rural schools has been greatly enjoyed. This exhibit is a collection of etchings by Ralph M. Pearson, and is an unusually good one. Mr. Pearson spent about four years at Taos, N. .I\L, and many of the Etchings in this group are. New* Mexfro scenes. Mr. Pearson is eonsiderotffbno of htc best artiste in this line. The story of his life is very interesting and the children of the rural schools, have enjoyed the talks that were given on the, life of the artist and the process of making an. etching. • l-The children ofUKcf Zuni school wrote some very interesting papers, after the exhibits were given there. The best papers \vr writtn by Gertrud Vander wagon, Naomi Kelsey, Arnold Lowe, Earl Klaus, and Beva Gonzales.Miss Randolph secured this exhibit -through the New Mexico Federation of Women’s Clubs, and plans to have other exhibits for the schools next term,This exhibit will be in the Gallup schools for the rest of this month.• : -:-—fr ■--
