On motion of Dr. Burton Van-dell of Hinds, Col. Thatns Freeland of Claiborne, was called to the Chair, and Rufus K. Arthur, of Vicksburg, appointed Secretary, for the purpose of organization. On. motion of General Charles Clarke of Jefferson, the members of the Convention present, were requested to leave their names with the Secretary.
