Kelly Applegate twirled the first no hitter of the Little League season and Jeff Granger smacked four hits to lead the First National Bank Orioles to an victory over the General Motors Red Sox in American League action Monday night. Applegate walked 11 and hit two in the no-hit performance which raised the Orioles mark to 2-0. Granger knocked in five runs with two homers and two singles while Applegate and Steve Sites each had two hits. John Gibson took the loss for the Red Sox. Andy Sterling singled in Jim Barger and Randy Smaltz to break a 12-12 tie in the fifth inning and lead the Kiwanis Yankees to a 14-12 win over the F.O.P. Indians in AL play. Sterling, Greg Bennett, Tom Lahey, Jim Barger and Wayne Eaton each had two hits for the Yankees while Wendall Rizor faced four singles amd Dave Cook and Todd Hickle a pair of hits each for the Indians. Randy Smaltz hurled the victory. Paul Siudzinski doubled in two runs and pitcher Brad Clines fanned 12 to spark the Tri-County Cardinals to a 4-1 win over the Exchange Giants in National League action. Clines had two hits with Tim Short, Marty Osborn, Jeff Parke and Siudzinski adding one apiece for the Cardinals while Scott Hill faced a pair of hits and Pete Fitzgerald, Greg Fouch and Doug Pat terson one apiece for the Giants. Jim Geyer uncorked a three-run homer over the centerfield fence with Lonnie Lovell and Steve Oler aboard in the sixth inning to give the Cooper Mets a 74 victory over the Lions Cubs in NL play. John Borsani smacked four con secutive hits and two RBIs for the Mets while Oler belted two hits, including a two-run roundtripper. Oler struck out 11 to pick up the win. Steve Wells and Joe Logsdon had two hits each for the Cubs while Jeff Casteel took the pitching loss. Arlington Lions Nab Win ARLINGTON—Ed Davis fired a no hitter and struck out 14 to spark the Arlington Lions to a 24-1 victory over the McComb Indians in Hancock County Little League action Monday. Doug Freed smacked three homers, one triple and one single while Kenny Horton lapped five hits and Davis three for Arlington.
