Miss Minnie Rangel, bride-elect of Howard Henderson, has been entertained with a series of show ers recently. Mrs. Willie Ruiz gave her a silver shower Sunday, May 4, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Ruiz home. Mrs. Ruiz, Miss Minnie Rangel, and Mrs. P. M. Rangel received. Other members of the house party were Mrs. Arturo Ruiz and Mrs. Tina Alvarado. Spring flowers were used in ar rangements. The table was lace laid, and centered with pink roses in a crys tal bowl. The cake was white frosted with “Minnie and How ard” on it. It was decorated with pink roses and green leaves. Punch was served with the cake. Mrs. E. C. Lerma of Benavides entertained Miss Rangel with a miscellaneous shower Sunday, night, May 4, from 7 to 9 in the P. M. Rangel home. House party members were Miss Ruth Hender son of Rio Grande City and Miss Terry Lozano of Premont. After a display of gifts, bridge, and canasta were played for enter tainment, Fifty attended the shower. A kitchen and linen shower was given Miss Rangel at Rio Grande City Wednesday night, May 7. Hostesses were Miss Ruth Hend erson and Mrs. W. H. Henderson. Mrs. F. P. Gonzales and Mrs. C. G. Salinas entertained with a mis cellaneous shower for Miss Ran gel Thursday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Roma, Texas, where the bride elect is employed as a pharmacist. A crystal shower was given for Miss Rangel Sunday, May 11, in the P. M. Rangel home on North 7th, at 3 p.m. Mrs. Nerio Garza and Mrs. Henry Salazar were hostesses. The table was lace laid, and centered with white carnations. Bridge and canasta were played during the afternoon. Forty attended the shower. Tuesday night, May 13, at 7 p.m. the bridesmaids for the wed ding of Miss Minnie Rangel and Howard Henderson on Sunday, May 18, gave the honoree a social dance in the patio at the spacious Rangel home. Hostesses were Miss Ruth Hen derson of Rio Grande City, Miss Terry Lozano of Premont, Miss Connie Quintanilla and Miss Olga Rangel of Kingsville. Spanish conquistadors of the New World trained dogs to fight the Indians.
